Nelson Hubley
Nelson Hubley answers the question
why he paints by stating, "It is an escape for me. An escape from the pressures
of the real world. I go into a zone where there is no one else, only me and my
paint brush. I also enjoy creating art for people to
enjoy." Having painted for over thirty years, it was
not until the fall of 2005 under the leadership of American Artist, Ann
Templeton, that he discovered and fell in love with enPlein Air Painting. It has
been through taking workshops from such artist as Peter Gough, Pat
Kew-Ahern, Beverly Hubley, and Ann Templeton that he has become the artist he is
today.
Had he not been exposed to art in high school and winning first place ribbons
for his Watercolour and Acrylic paintings, and then going on to having two solo
art shows that sold out, he would have missed out on discovering his passion.
Art is all around you, all you have to do is capture it and put it on
canvas.
